Police & Community: Rebuilding Our Commitment Training Conference

Presented By: NABLEO
Thursday, October 19,2017 starting at 08:30A
Crowne Plaza Hotel
801 Greenwich Ave
Warwick, RI

The many community policing efforts of today’s first responders are often marred by the mis-perceptions of both the officer and community member. When each has a better understanding of the other, their commitments to each other are freshened and strengthened.

Our conference proceedings have been designed for law enforcement personnel, as well as community activists and organizers seeking to improve their relationships with law enforcement.

Participants will receive instruction related to various issues facing today’s law enforcement officer and their impact on the manner in which they interact with members of the community, with a special emphasis on those interactions in communities of color. Issues of concern will include “Understanding Implicit Bias; Conflict Engagement; Effects of Sanctuary Policies on Community Policing; the Relationship Between Police and the Muslim Community”, and others designed to provide law enforcement officers with greater tools, knowledge and skills for interacting with people, particularly in communities of color. Speakers for each session bring a wealth of experience and training in their particular backgrounds and have been chosen for their specific knowledge in the chosen subject area. Full conference information may be viewed at http://conference.nableo.org
