Zoom Online Presentation, US

What is the culture of policing today? Does it truly consider the issues facing the profession as we transition into the next year? Issues such as mental health and wellness, gender bias and discrimination, continuing systemic racism, calls for stronger civilian oversight, and political unrest continue to plague the profession. And still undecided is the exact role that Black law enforcement officers and their community partners must play to ensure safe, productive communities.

In response to the success of our recent panel discussion, the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers, Inc will present a second panel discussion entitled “RACE & JUSTICE: RE-IMAGING THE CULTURE OF POLICING (PART TWO)” Sunday, January 24, 2021 beginning at 6:00 PM EST to consider issues related to transforming the culture of policing and more properly address issues such as gender bias and discrimination, mental health and wellness, civilian oversight, the impact of politics on criminal justice, and the role of Black law enforcement within that transformation.

Panelists for this exciting conversation will include: Sgt. Shawn Kennedy (Ret.), Chicago, IL Police, moderator; Sgt. Vincent Montague, Cleveland Black Shield Police Association; Det. Felicia Richards, NYPD Guardians Association; Off. Shanette Hall, St. Louis County, MO Police; Dr. Daniel L. Hollar, Bethune-Cookman University; and Lieut. Carol Hamilton, New York City Police.

Registration for this program is at no cost, and can be completed online at http://conference.nableo.org/online_workshop.cfm?programid=2. Only the first 90 registrants will be accepted.
