NABLEO’s three-day conference being held at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick will culminate with their 20th Anniversary Scholarship and Awards Ceremonies Banquet held on Friday, September 30, 2022. NABLEO will recognize law enforcement officers and community members who have served the community through enhancing efforts to bring about safe communities and strengthen bonds with their community partners.

This year’s award recipients will include: Sheriff Mildred S. Scott, Middlesex County, NJ Sheriff’s Office, who is the first female Sheriff in Middlesex and the first African American Sheriff in the State of New Jersey (recipient of the Community Leadership Award); Commissioner Jiles Ship of the New Jersey Police Training Commission and President of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) (recipient of the Law Enforcement Leadership Award);  Inv. Elliott T. Boyce, Sr., New York State Police (recipient of the Community Policing Award); Nakia Jones-Harris, the United Black Police Officers Association, and the Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association (recipients of the Chairman’s Award); NOBLE New Jersey (recipient of the Community Service Award); and Kalah Williams (recipient of the Children of Courage Student Scholarship Award).  As well, the Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Wilena Julien, a long-time member of NABLEO.

This event will begin with a cocktail reception from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Dinner will be served beginning at 7:15 PM.
