Descriptive Tasks/Responsibilities for Position

Campus Police Officers are responsible for protection of University faculty, students, faculty, staff, visitors, dignitaries, property; patrolling the campus to deter crime, develop community relations, investigate crimes and respond to calls for service and assistance.

Requirements

Candidates must have successfully completed a certified Police Academy that is equivalent and/or eligible for reciprocity with the RI Municipal Police Academy
Pass interview and background investigation
Pass psychological and physical exam.
Be 21 years of age or older
Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
Must be a US citizen
Have high school diploma or GED, higher education a plus
Must have no felony convictions
Ability to provide high level of customer service
Ability to treat others with dignity and respect regardless of the situation
Officers will work on a rotation schedule, four days on and two days off
